I have learned to say ''bless you"!
by Aussie Oz infor those born in or dragged in as little children, normal customs are not imprinted on our minds.. such as the simple saying ''bless you'' when somebody sneezes.
this has frustrated my wife for as long as we have been together!
she felt it very rude that when she would sneeze i would not respond with the customary phrase, i had to explain that it just was not part of my culture, not imprinted on me.

It is like expecting an african bushman to offer the exchange.
Its not like i heard the sneeze and thought 'bless you', then had an aversion to saying it, it just never entered my head in the first place...this did satisfy her but she still wanted it none the less.
So i been learning! And I do now actually think: Aha! A sneeze! I am to say something! Ah yes, "BLESS YOU"!!!!
one day i am sure it will be automatic.

wardrobe 'malfunction' while in service
by nuthouse escapee inbusy street, lots of houses.
felt something clinging to back of my leg.
elastic waistband of my slip died and my slip was hanging 6 inches below my dress.. anyone else have an embarrassing service tale to share?.

I once shit myself in service.
Literally.
I was out door to door with the group and got a sudden case of gastro. I ran about 4 blocks to a JWs home to use the loo and didnt make it...
cleanup was a bitch i can tell you. I very discreetly and quickly left and went home to have a shower and change...needless to say i didnt go back out door to door that day. My new girlfriend put my sudden turn down to nerves as it was our first time door to door together (sort of like a JW date)...
the things people talk about that trigger long forgotten memories!

King of the North - Missing in Action
by scotoma inthe watchtower seems to have lost track of one of their favorite endtime players - the king of.
how could they let such an important component of their prophecies vanish.. .
growing up in the 50's and 60's i fully believed the watchtowers scheme for interpreting daniel.. and it was quite believable back then.

Being the masters of the 'flip flop' i am sure they could easily re-declare russia as the king of the north and the US as king of the south.
Jws would peobably not even notice.

i thought the law was you had to be separated 12 months before a divorce is granted...i guess it depends on the country then...

Prices of petrol
by InquiryMan ininterestingly, norway is an oil-producing country.
nevertheless, the price of petrol pr litre is at approx.
15 kroner, that is 2$50c a litre (roughly 10 dollars a gallon)... that is the highest price in any country... however, when estimated how much an average person has to work in order to buy the petrol, norwegians are among the 10 countries in the world that have the relatively "lowest" price.
-
Aussie Oz
yes, but don't forget wages go up too...
when i was lad, i made 40 bucks a week and petrol was 25c a litre
now i make 30 times that and petrol is $1.40 ish, not 7.50 a litre on the same scale...
It is more affordable than ever.

Pictures of the Governing Body Members doing Personal Study
by Iamallcool inhttp://www.tj-archives.org/2012/06/personal-photos-of-members-of-governing.html.

Aussie Oz
yeah right!
who does 'personal study' at the office? Even if they are the GB?
other than splane who is doing a lovely 'hold the bible for a photo', the rest are probably studing recent demands from the legal department on how to save money.

Britain Olympics shock
by slimboyfat inhow did britain get to be third on the medals table?
that was a bit unexpected.
and beating the australians as well - they won't be pleased about that.
-
Aussie Oz
I dont like the olympics, and am thankful to not have TV especially at olympic time,
we did see some in a motel room the other week and what really pissed me off was the australian media making those that got siver feel like failures. It was like, if you didnt get gold you let the country down.
should be banned next after religion...

My daughter is at phase 7
fortunatley for her, should she get the swift kick (likely from her dirtbag stepdad) she has my place to come to, and a few real true non JW friends.
its not easy guiding these kids out, you worry about them when they are not in your care....
